Old building renovation
The client wanted to move into one of his property, a 60 sqm apartment in the hipster Berlin Neukölln which has not been renovated for a good forty years. As a film producer, he likes to surround himself with beautiful things. His briefing included references such as „New York 1930“, Soho House Berlin and The Beekman Thompson Hotel. The apartment next door will be furnished in the same style and rented out to friends. See page: Vintage Apartment Two. The construction site lasted eight months for both flats.

All old wallpaper is torn down, the walls are renovated: filled, sanded, primed, and painted with Farrow & Ball paints. The pieces are restored. Some of the pieces are being assembled. The damaged floorboards are dipped with original used floorboards from the region. The entire surface is then sanded and painted four times in a high gloss. |
Four radiators are clad to measure. The original doors and windows are sanded and painted. The electrical installation has been completely renewed. The high-quality switch range made of porcelain creates a nostalgic look. The skirting boards, which were unfortunately not in good condition, have been replaced with new ones made of solid wood with a Berlin profile and painted white. |
